Junior Reporters

Last weekend was the kick-off for a cross country women's air race, commemorating the 80th anniversary of women's air racing, so Paul took Lexi to the airport where she got to be a Junior Reporter for Aviation Journals.

Lexi interviewed teams of pilots on video and asked for autographs. She was so inspired when she came home that she asked me to redecorate her room - with an airplane theme! Maybe Levi, whose room is full of cool airplanes, would trade with her? Hmmm...I don't know that is into purple, lime green, and dolls too much....

The next day, which happened to be Father's Day, Paul took both Haley and Lexi back to the airport. (Haley had spent the previous day with her Nana and Papa.) They did several more interviews, met more pilots, and had a great day together. They were both so mature. They had a list of questions that they had come up with, and when they asked them, they listened, and they learned a lot.

There was a movie premiere about Pancho Barnes, who was a famous female air racer in the late 1920s.

All of the women's air race teams at the movie premiere.

That's cool. What a great opportunity for Lexi and Haley to be a part of!
