Utah 2009 - Elder Edens Goes to the MTC and Hiking to a Waterfall

Russ got home from the fire station and made us a YUMMY breakfast of crepes with whipped cream and strawberries and scrambled eggs.

Zach spent the morning talking to his family on the phone and getting ready to enter the MTC for his mission to Alabama. Here's a link if you are interested in learning more about the Missionary Training Center and missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: http://www.mtc.byu.edu/. Russ took Zach and dropped him off for the start of his full-time missionary service. We love you Elder Edens! See you in two years!

After lunch, we took the kids on a hike up Payson Canyon to a waterfall. They all got soaked, and almost everyone loved it... It was a fun hike, with log bridges crossing the stream. Best of all, it only takes about 15 minutes to get to the waterfall, so it was perfect for our mixed ages family.

After our hike, we stopped at Russ's parents house for dinner. We made it justin time for a nasty rainstorm to blow in. The kids were all soaked and dirty, so we stripped off their clothes (except Haley who opted to stay wet) and they ran around wrapped in towels and blankets while we washed and dried their clothes. After dinner, Haley, Lexi and Levi fed the horses some ymmy treats - watermelon and cantaloupe rinds!

So sad I missed the fun hike! Every time we drove up to Payson Lakes we said we should hike that trail. Maybe they'll have to do it again with mom. :)

I LOVE that picture of your three kids in front of the waterfall - it is so perfect and they look like they are just loving it!
